Thanks for your interest in donating to Hostfile.org! You're one of the very few people to actually show an interest in helping out a site such as this. As any sane person would do, I try to make it as easy as possible. Right now I only offer one way to donate, through PayPal. Due to the way the code works, there's not currently a way to donate a server or bandwidth, though I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to add.

Safe Files are now active! They go at a rate of $0.25 per file, e.g. if you donate a buck you get 4 safe file tokens, if you donate $10 you get 40. Pretty cool, huh? Safe File "tokens" are reusable - you can remove them from one file and apply it to another. That's why they go for 25 cents each - they're good for life.

PLEASE send me a message after donating, to tell me you did so (so I can give you your donor status and credit your account with the safe files): Send Email - otherwise I have to search the database for your email address and whatnot... OY!

Curious where your donations go? Take a look at AboutCosts to see what costs what. Keep in mind that this whole site is entirely donation supported. Without your donations, there is no Hostfile.

Personally, I'm an adamant believer in voluntary payment. If you feel like the service is worth something, you'll help support it - by clicking ads, or just donating money. I don't believe in shoving ads in your face and making you accidentally click them. Ads rarely ever provide any useful services, they're only ways for some company to get your money out of your hands. I don't support them at all. Previous versions of Hostfile.org had ads, but they didn't do any good at all, and Google ended up booting me off with 80 bucks in my account (which I never received) after at least a year, for a line that told people to look at the ads. Not click, just look. Blah. Ads suck. Sites that use ads should be ashamed. I hope to start a new e-revolution with my little site - the donation revolution. Sites that can be entirely self-sustaining from donations alone. It's so easy for the average Joe to send money these days, why not encourage it?

So fuel the donation revolution. Click that Donate link above. Anything is nice - 5, 10, 15, even 20 bucks (all the better!). It'll go towards the server costs... and of course, the admin's cost of living! :-)

Thanks!!
